Emergency
Queenstown is in an earthquake-prone region.
If an earthquake occurs:
- DROP, COVER, HOLD
- Stay calm and protect your head and neck
- Move away from windows, mirrors, and anything that may fall
- Take cover under sturdy furniture if possible
- If outside, stay clear of buildings, powerlines, and hazards
- Do not use lifts
After shaking stops:
- Expect aftershocks
- Proceed carefully and follow instructions from staff or emergency services
- Do not use electrical appliances if damage is suspected
